Details matter!!

So one of the rules of Wake Up Warrior is details matter.

My name is Tom from System IO and just been working on my property.

We've got two acres here in Birkenhead in New South Wales, Australia.

Two acres, the dream, you know, like, lot of people like, Gee, I just wish I could get two acres and live in northern New South Wales, and life would be awesome.

But let me tell you, it's a lot of work.

There are little traps everywhere.

So I've got a couple of challenges at the moment, my pool robot is busted.

And I'm not sure that one's coming back.

So maybe we'll need a new pool robot.

But I want to let you know that just down in here.

I don't know whether you guys can see this.

But down in here.

You see, we get Yeah.

Okay.

So that little pipe there is called a first flush.

It's about a first flush.

So what it does is the water hits the roof.

And then, instead of going directly into the tank, it brings all the leaves into that pipe there.

Now, every now and then, you got to emptiness.

And actually, make sure you clear it out.

Otherwise, that doesn't really work.

The water just goes straight into the tank.

But I came down here.

Yeah, I'm just doing life and won't be long.

And just found that tap in the open position.

This is bad.

This is bad.

This basically means that every time it rained for an unknown period of time, I don't know when this was last opened.

Probably me it was probably me.

In fact, I'm just going to own that was me.

But I think maybe two months ago, that tap has been open.

And so all of the waters been coming out.

So I just checked, and we're out.

This is a 90,000-litre tank, or I know it's hidden, it's hidden.

But maybe a bit over 20,000 gallons.

And not much water has been going in.

And a lot of my water has been going down this hill.

So these details matter.

In terms of system thought, opening the tap must ensure that the tap gets closed.

I didn't do that.

But there are all these little traps on this property that no one ever talks about the dream and the reality.

I'd say it's a wonderful learning curve.

But yeah, next time I go to open this chap, I'm going to stand there and watch it and let it come out.

And then close it.

Second thing speak to my family tonight and say, hey, if anyone opens the first flush, make sure we're closing otherwise, we won't have enough water.
