Aren't you packed a bit light? Travelling to America!

Apr 01, 2022

Aren't you packed a bit light travelling to America? Check it out, like where I am right now.

This is a strange and unusual place in Australia right now still, we're about what maybe six weeks, maybe four weeks that we've been actually allowed to travel.

Fortress Australia for the last what, two years.

Very difficult to travel out of this place if all you had was an Australian passport.

Well, I've got is an Australian passport.

So it's presented some serious problems.

But here I am.

You might be asking, Well, where are you going? Where are you going when you get to first travel.

For me, there's only one place to go.

And that's Maui.

Maui is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I got a 10-hour flight to Honolulu.

I'm in Sydney right now.

The Brisbane Honolulu flight.

Just there haven't brought that one back.

There was so good when it started.

Because I used to have to do this.

I used to fly.

Brisbane, Sydney, Sydney, Honolulu, Honolulu, Maui.

And then all the way back 18 hours, 18 hours.

So what's in Maui? Well, if you haven't been to Maui, then I suggest you go.

It's awesome.

It's amazing.

It's a gigantic volcano in the middle of the Pacific.

It's crazy that It's wild.

It's amazing.

I've had some cool, cool, cool experiences.

And I'm stoked to be heading back.

But it was interesting because I got to travel again.

And I came in I looked around everyone's got these huge bags like huge, but I like what do you guys put in them.

And the lady goes to me Bianchi packed a bit light.

And I'm like, Look, I don't even normally travel with a second bag.

Even International.

Why? Because it's so quick, so quick to get through everything.

Even la x the phenomenally difficult airport that it is can be transferred quite nicely.

If you fly from Australia ride in as the first planes the day, you've only got carry on luggage.

And you're like, first, second or third.

It's epic.

So these systems, idea here is what's necessary.

What's necessary, what is what's the minimum.

And this is coming up for me in my software right now some deploying software called Marketing blueprints.

This essentially is the system that builds out ads and sales and fulfilment sequences.

But software is expensive.

It's really cool because the work that goes in is massively leverageable.

Ie every next copy of the software doesn't really cost anything to produce at all.

But the initial cost of the software.

Yeah, it's a little awkward.

It's a little might.

So how many hours do you think in from here, I was expecting like one to 200.

And He goes, you know, probably 1000 hours, 1000 hours.

It would keep me like, this isn't even the fully developed thing.

He's like, Yeah, man, this is I'm like, What the heck are you guys doing? So I don't know whether that was massive? Like, I'm not sure whether we're in the same ballpark, maybe, maybe.

But my guides have been solid so far, I have no particular reason to doubt them, I will get a second opinion.

So hey, here's my Figma.

Here's the scope.

What do you think is this 1000 hours and it likely is.

And I imagine like down in the typing in the code like it takes a while and the bugs and fixed and they go to talk in between the guys like the front end guy and there's a back end guy.

And confronted with the 1000 hours online, unlike you know what, let's deploy the minimum viable.

So I cut the product in half, you might have the product in half.

Where is the value? Well, the value is interesting because the value is for those people that sign up when it's not fully deployed, they come in at an earlier price, and they stay grandfathered on that price.

And as the product gets better and better and better, it sells for higher and higher amounts because the value is higher.

But they're still in at that lower rate.

And they tend not to want to lose that because then they're going to come back in at a high rate.

If they're paying 97 bucks a year and then it's at $9,997 a year.

Like you know what, this software is awesome.

It's proved greatly from when I bought it but the benefits of buying in early with it.

So this is very interesting, all very fascinating.

But the lesson that I want you to consider is where are you bloated? Where are you doing too much? Where are your systems overloaded where there's just stuff that doesn't need to be done.

This is an interesting feature of having documented systems that you will start to notice that you do less.

And deleting steps that seem so important at the beginning begins to make a whole lot more sense.

When I'm not using this bit, I'm not using this bit, delete, delete, delete a given example.

So on the videos, these videos that I do, we distribute them out to YouTube and LinkedIn to a whole bunch of places.

And that's a system that does that.

And I used to have to come up with the headlines after, but ever since I've been changing, to launch with the headlines.

And all of these are using the headlines as the title, then the headlines did, I don't need that anymore.

There was a section called generate headlines, and I'd come up with five or six headlines and choose the best one.

And now I'm like, Well, this is using the one that I used, maybe tweak it a bit, maybe, maybe change it up a bit.

And sometimes you pick that up if you look at the title in the YouTube and, and the Facebook, not on the Facebook Live on the ones that get distributed out later.

But if you look at those, you'll notice that sometimes they're a bit tweaked.

And that's where I've reviewed the transcript and improved a little bit.

But the overall idea is perhaps I'm not packed light at all.

Perhaps I'm overpacked even with two backs.

And if you haven't tried it yet, I want to encourage you the next time that you fly international carry on only carry on only just to push your boundaries.

It's super cool.

The best experience ever, I believe came from Tim Ferriss, you can look that up somewhere.

But I love the idea and I highly recommend it.

That's all I got for you tonight.

I'm going to go catch a plane to Maui.

Super excited about this so look forward to seeing you on the next episode.

Might be a little while don't know what's going to happen.

Now anything Anything could happen there so excited for that.

But I will see you on the next episode as we continue this journey into power systems to create results.

See you then.
